Caithness Wildlife Tours offers Tailor-made Tours to suit your individual needs. Let us know when you contact us if there is something specific you wish to see, we can then discuss your requirements further before booking your Tailor-made Tour (we cannot offer online booking for this tour).
We listen carefully to what you would like to see and where you would like to go. No two days are the same and there are no set sites on set days. We are flexible and able to respond to your needs. We will pick you up from your accommodation, or from a location that suits you in Thurso, at a time of your choice.
A Tailor-made Tour will include visits to a number of sites to increase your chances of seeing a wider range of species. For example, we can include a visit to a local bird hide, beach and cliff top sites for coastal species and waders, and wetland for waders, waterfowl and inland species. We can also include an archaeological site, such as a castle or broch, in your tour if you would like to combine wildlife with a bit of Caithness history.
There will be plenty of time to take photos so don’t forget to bring your camera and binoculars, although we can provide binoculars if needed. And don’t forget your walking boots, and warm and waterproof outdoor clothing – it is best to be prepared for all weather conditions in Caithness.
A full-day Tailor-made Tour lasting approx. seven hours costs from £80 per person (minimum of two people). A half day tour of approximately four hours costs from £50 per person (minimum of two people).
On any one day in Caithness you might see a range of sea birds, waders and waterfowl, birds of prey, seals, and if you are very lucky, cetaceans or even an otter. But please note that we can never 100% guarantee that we will see any given species on a tour. Have a look at the Wildlife Diary and visit us on Facebook to see which species are likely to be in Caithness when you are here.
